Nestled just 30 miles from Little Rock, Arkansas, C&C by the Lake is more than just a wedding venue—it’s a place filled with history, transformation, and a deep passion for creating unforgettable events.
From Fish Farm to Wedding Destination
Our story begins in 1984, when the land was first used as a fish farm. Initially, we specialized in breeding tropical fish, but over time, we transitioned to Koi farming. For nearly three decades, the property thrived as a peaceful aquatic sanctuary. However, after 9/11, the fish farming industry faced challenges, and the operation gradually came to a halt. The land lay dormant for years, waiting for its next chapter.
The Birth of Lake C&C and a Vision Unfolding
In the summer of 2020, Donny Carmical, the primary owner, decided to reshape the landscape. He pushed in the old levees and created what is now known as Lake C&C—a breathtaking private lake that would become the heart of our venue.
Inspired by the tranquil setting, Donny built a charming event space in 2021, initially referring to it as his “little party room”—a place where he could relax, drink beers with friends, and enjoy the beauty of the lake. However, this cozy gathering space quickly evolved into something much greater.
A Family Legacy in the Making
By November 2022, as construction neared completion, his daughter, Kortney Strange, saw the potential for something extraordinary. She stepped in to help transform the space into a full-service wedding venue, building a website, launching social media, and securing the first wedding bookings.
From First Weddings to Premier Arkansas Venue
In May 2023, C&C by the Lake officially opened its doors for weddings and special events. The response was overwhelming, and by 2024, we proudly hosted 41 all-inclusive, full-service weddings, establishing ourselves as a sought-after wedding venue near Little Rock, Arkansas.
To enhance the guest experience, we expanded the property, adding:
- Nine guest cabins for couples and their guests to enjoy a full weekend retreat.
- A party house—perfect for rehearsal dinners and pre-wedding celebrations.
- The Hen House—a luxurious six-bedroom lodge for larger groups.
